About Docjazz4 (David Ramos)

David was introduced to the Ocarina through the 1998 N64 classic, "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time". Since getting his first Ocarina back in 1999, he's continued to improve his skills and shares his songs through his youtube channel and public performances.

With a collection of over 90 ocarinas from the last 150 years, David enjoys educating the public on the history and development of the ocarina, as well as teaching his ocarina students how to make the most of their flutes and music education.

In 2009, David initiated the first major US Ocarina Gathering, held in Seattle, WA. It was hosted by Sandi and Richard Schmidt of Clayzeness Whistleworks and sponsored by Songbird Ocarinas and SMule Inc. He also attended the 2011 Ocarina Festival in Budrio, Italy and is currently making plans to hold a similar event in the United States sometime in mid-2012.

David is also completing his BA in Music at the University of Texas, San Antonio. As a composer, he is a recent recipient of the Rudy Perez Songwriting Scholarship, presented by the ASCAP Foundation. His first ocarina album is currently underway, featuring his own compositions, several of which can be seen on youtube and myspace.
